1) GoDaddy
GoDaddy has the best customer service of
any company we have ever dealt with. They provide domain registration, email, SSL's (for
encryption for eCommerce), of which we have used and found very affordable. They sell many
other products that we have not tested.2) Dynalivery
Dynalivery is a partner of CSI that provides PDF creation from web pages, which (with our content management)
will allow you to create resumes, brochures or any time sensitive material
for reproduction, along with uses in corporate collaboration, so please check out their web site at
www.dynalivery.com.
3) Authorize.net
For web site and internet access to credit card verification. Easy to
set up, dependable and inexpensive.
4) Talk Fusion
Streaming Videos including email and web
site implementation.
According to reports, Google is starting a new ranking analysis where web sites with
video are going to come up first before other sites. Add the personal touch to your email
and web site - statistics show it works! See if you would like to be a
TalkFusion Reseller.
5 )
Norton Ghost
If you buy an external hard drive
and case for your PC (it has to be at least the same size as your current drive), plug it into one of your USB connections, make a copy
of your hard drive with Norton Ghost, then if your disk drive crashes, all you have to do is remove your
bad drive and replace it with your backup drive. This one piece of advice will change your life if you
have a disk drive crash.
6)
Linksys Router
Did you know that whenever you are
on the internet, your computer and everything on it is wide open to anyone? If you buy a router and close down all
the incoming ports, it becomes a firewall between you and that scumbag that's trying to steal your
information or use your computer to forward their evil plans. We've had good luck with Linksys over the
years, so we recommend them (Best Buy or Tiger Direct.com).
7)
AVG AntiVirus and Internet Security
We like AVG because there is a free version
that is updated every day automatically and a pay version that includes a firewall, which you need if you don't have a router
or if you are out of your house and using WIFI. It works well, it's easy although we must say that the customer service is not
that great.
8)
Ring
Central
The first thing any legitimate business should
do is to get an 800 number.
9) Mailwasher
The first thing everyone should do on any new
computer (or now if you don't have it) is download and install Mailwasher.
It allows you to "bounce" each piece of spam, which gives the sender the
message that this email address does not exist, then they take you off their
list and Viola! No more spam! It's free and it works because we
use it. If you have more than one email address that you must
check, you'll have to buy Mailwasher Pro, but it's very inexpensive.
